E.M. S. Memorial College of Applied Science, Iritty is one among the 46 Applied Science Colleges under Institute of Human Resources Development, an Autonomous Educational Institution Established by the Govt. of Kerala. IHRD is dedicated to scientific advancement, technological progress and economic growth of country through Institute of Human Resources Development. It shall endeavor to adhere to the Principle “Think Globally and Act Locally” so that compulsions of the nation’s welfare are firmly entwined with and embedded in the world wide goals of society.

 

This college started in 2009 with three Degree Courses that are B. Com with Computer Application, B. Sc Electronics and B. Sc Computer Science. This college is situated nearby Iritty a high range place of Kannur District, to provide education and training of consistently high students though innovative and versatile programmes that are responsible to the current and emerging needs of the community belongs to the social and economically backward area of the eastern side of Kannur District.  This college started in 2009 in the highly interest of Smt. K.K Shylaja the MLA of Peravoor Constituency, in 2 acres of land donated by the Oceanus Construction Company. This college is affiliated with Kannur University   and completed eight years of meritorious service to ensure the education to the common pupil in this area. Our first batch passed out in 2011-12 with a glamour result in Kannur University and runs short and long term employment oriented and continuing education programme. Our first M.Com batch started in 2022-2023 under Kannur University passed out in 2024 with flying colors. Additionally, new batch of B.Com with Cooperation started in  2023-2024.  Later, B.T.T.M is sanctioned by Kannur University in 2023-2024, . Four Year under Graduate programme (FYUGP) introduced in 2024 as a part of the education system changes brought up by the Kerala Government.
